A DeKalb County man has decided to throw his hat in the ring for president of the United States of America.

Marc Alan Urbach completed the necessary paperwork to be considered as a write-in candidate for presidential office during the upcoming election.

Urbach, who said he voted Republican in previous years, said he could no longer sit back and do nothing.

“If (Hillary Clinton) and (Donald Trump) are running and this is all we have to vote on, why don’t I give it a shot.” Urbach said.

Urbach, who has a background in education, said he began doing speaking engagements for Tea Party groups about two years ago. Urbach spoke to groups such as the Lanier Tea Party Patriots, Forsyth County Tea Party, the John Birch Society, United Tea Party of Georgia, Habersham County Tea Party, and Tea Party of Gilmer County.

In the past two years, Urbach said, people have urged him to run for senator. However, Urbach said numbers support making an impact as a third party candidate.

“I’ve talked with so many people the past two years and they are so upset with both parties. Both parties have greatly failed them.” Urbach said. “I read a poll that said 58 percent of people are looking for a third party candidate. I feel the same way. I’m upset too.”

Urbach said he was inspired by the nation’s Founding Fathers in his presidential campaign and plans to encourage citizens to restore religious freedoms into the schools.

As president, Urbach said he will repeal Obamacare, create a simple flat tax or fair tax system and suspend 90 percent of immigration.

“I believe in the Constitution; I believe all Americans can achieve great things and I believe in my oath to this country. We have approximately 85 million out of the labor work force and 48 million on food stamps. I just can’t see bringing in x number of immigrants,” Urbach said. “We have to protect our people our people and protect our country. I will do everything in my power to deport all criminal illegal aliens.”

The biggest hurdle for Urbach has been getting all the attention of media outlets, he said. Regardless, Urbach said he still wants to run and if elected he wants to restore the country to its founding principles.

In a statement on his website, “In the spirit of Thomas Jefferson, ‘we are all Republicans, we are all Federalists.’ Republicans drop your R and put an A, Democrats, drop your D and put an A, Independents, drop your I, and put an A. All Americans put an A in front of your name, we are Americans.”

In my professional opinion, the BEST written article I have ever read, NOT because it has to do with me, BUT BECAUSE of the STUNNING ACCURACY WITH IT. Horace Holloman is a TRUE Journalist. I very much enjoyed reading the article with him in a private meeting.

Marc Urbach is passionate about the text of the U.S. Constitution and confident he could win the White House if he could get Donald Trump to debate him.

The presumptive major-party candidates for president are setting records for unpopularity, leading many voters to search for a choice not named Trump or Clinton.

Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson has reached a party record 13 percent in the polls. Green Party candidate Jill Stein, an anti-Israel Jewish physician who has offered the top of the ticket to Sen. Bernie Sanders, is getting 5 percent in four-way polling.

Now an observant Jew from Dunwoody has launched a long-shot presidential campaign, hoping to win at least 270 electoral votes as a write-in candidate.

But Marc Urbach is not joking around. He’s not trying to make a statement about the nation’s two-party system, nor is he hoping just to raise certain issues.

Urbach acknowledges that a write-in campaign has a tiny chance for success, but he seems sincere in his belief that there is a chance.

“I think I have a shot if I can get Donald Trump in a debate for 30 minutes,” he said in an AJT interview a week after he announced his candidacy during a call-in appearance on a Denver radio show July 7. Asked why Trump would ever debate him, Urbach smiled and said, “Well, that’s the thing.”

If you’re looking for a candidate who can claim the middle ground between Trump and Hillary Clinton, Urbach probably isn’t your guy.

“The Tea Party has found their man,” reads a press release about his campaign. Urbach, a former history teacher in Gwinnett County public schools who worships at Congregation Ariel, calls himself a constitutional patriot and aims to win the support of “the biggest party of all, the American Party.”

Urbach is no fan of the current occupant of the Oval Office, whom he blames for causing a 280 percent increase in war deaths and a 350 percent increase in wounded troops in 2009 by changing the rules of engagement in Iraq.

“I don’t believe Barrack Hussein Obama is mentally competent to hold office,” Urbach said.

He said an appearance outside Independence Hall on the Fourth of July persuaded him to launch his quixotic quest. Because of nearby festivities, he spoke to a sparse crowd, but he said the patriots were impressed by his knowledge of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence and urged him to run.

Anyone, of course, can issue a statement announcing a write-in candidacy for president. But Urbach said he is devoting 15 hours a day and what money he has to back up his words with action. He is contacting state governments to see what, if anything, he needs to do to have write-in votes for him counted in November — he’s already too late for Georgia, and he has an agent booking him on radio shows to get his name out there.

He’s hoping people will find him on Facebook (www.facebook.com/ marc.urbach.5) and the web (marcalanurbach.wordpress.com) and buy into his agenda.

The Pittsburgh native and University of Florida graduate, who’ll turn 49 in August, is a critic of open-door immigration, especially from the Muslim world, and wants to fire everyone in the Office of Refugee Resettlement. In an echo of a longtime Republican threat, he also vows to close the Education Department. He hopes for a test case in court to restore school prayer, and he aims to institute either a flat tax or a simple tax.

But Urbach is no big-business Republican. He said one of this country’s major problems is that top executives are hoarding money and paying their employees oppressive wages, contravening biblical directives.

His belief in a return to the documentary foundations of the United States, including Judeo-Christian principles, inspired him to self-publish a book last August called “Believe: Do We Need a Third Great Awakening?”

His answer is in his campaign slogan: “Return America to righteousness.”

Please accept this as my Petition of Challenge, pursuant to Title 21 of the Georgia Code, directed to your good office as to the name of Mrs. Hillary Clinton ever being displayed upon the ballots of this State as a candidate for any Federal Office for legal cause.

Federal Law, 18 USC 2071 states in pertinent part:

(a) Whoever willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, …, obliterates, or destroys, or attempts to do so, or, with intent to do so takes and carries away any record, …, document, or other thing, filed or deposited with any … public officer of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.

(b) Whoever, having the custody of any such record, …, or other thing, willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, …, or destroys the same, shall … be disqualified from holding any office under the United States.

In the sworn response of FBI Director Comey to quires posed by the Honorable Rep. Trey Gowdy during the Congressional Oversight and Government Reform Committee Hearing of July 2016 about 17 minutes after being sworn, the following is transcribed:

Q (by Mr. Gowdy). Secretary Clinton said all work related emails were returned to the State Department. Was that true?

A (by Mr. Comey). No. We found work related emails, thousands, that were not returned.

Q (by Mr. Gowdy). Secretary Clinton said that nither she nor anyone else deleted work related emails from her personal account. Was that true?

A (by Mr. Comey). That’s a harder one to answer. We found traces of work related emails in …on devises or in slack spaces, whether they were deleted or whether a server was changed out something happened to them; there’s no doubt that the work related emails were removed electronically from the email system.

Based upon the elements necessary to be proved, contained in 18 USC 2071(b), and the weight, relevance, and sufficiency of the evidence (sworn testimony) presented to the Congressional, Committee by Mr. Comey, I respectfully submit that there is a sufficiency of competent evidence and a mandate of Federal Law, superior to this State’s Laws, to your good office that the name of Hillary Rodham Clinton is not qualified to be placed upon any ballot as a Presidential Candidate, or a candidate for any elective Federal Office, in this State.

Pursuant to your duties imposed in O.C.G.A. 21-2-5(b) and (c), I respectfully ask that you exercise your discretion, and based upon the “any evidence rule”, notice Mrs. Clinton, upon her, or her representative’s, filing of notice of candidacy that, as a matter of law and competent evidence of the highest and best caliber, her name shall not appear upon any ballot in the State of Georgia for election to any federal office. Also, I ask that she, or her representative, be advised of her right of appeal pursuant to O.C.G.A. 21-2-5(e).

Should you believe this matter proper for an Administrative Law Proceeding, upon proper notice of hearing, I shall be at the pleasure of the Court.

Please advise me of your decision as soon as possible, so that I may have a sufficiency of time to prepare for hearing or any appeal necessary should such become prudent.

I would like to remind you of my letter that I hand delivered to your office on July 15, 2016 and the letter that I mailed to your office on July 20, 2016, that I am a write-in candidate for President of the United States of America.
